5/1/2017 0 Comments BUG SEASON IS HERE!There just isn’t any way to avoid bugs when you live on a farm. So since we do I want to have something I can put on a bite that will stop the itch that’s natural.
Yesterday something outside decided to attack both my forearms. I still am trying to figure out what it was but what I have now after intense itching are several large welts and little bites on my arms. Desperate for some relief from this itching before I go to bed tonite I got online and starting reading about essential oils and the different combinations that can be used to relieve itching. So I pulled out my box of essential oils, ones I received as a gift, and poured 10 drops of peppermint oil plus 10 drops of lavender oil into a cup along with 2 tsp of coconut oil. I heated it up slightly so the coconut oil would melt. Gave it a little swirl and generously slathered it all over the bites on my arms. I felt immediate relief. Even the welt raised skin seemed to tame down a bit. I don’t know how long it will last so I plan to have my little bug potion close by my bed in case I need it tonite. And bonus…it smells good! It’s so obvious we are all tired of the rain and clouds. Reasons to like the rain. Lovers standing in a downpour is great and even better than the sunshine. Mud puddle splashing of course. Fashionistas! Show off that pretty umbrella. Tap your inner child and go catch some raindrops on your tongue. Gardeners go dig up some worms. And on that note….
