There just isn’t any way to avoid bugs when you live on a farm. So since we do I want to have something I can put on a bite that will stop the itch that’s natural.
Yesterday something outside decided to attack both my forearms. I still am trying to figure out what it was but what I have now after intense itching are several large welts and little bites on my arms.
Desperate for some relief from this itching before I go to bed tonite I got online and starting reading about essential oils and the different combinations that can be used to relieve itching.
So I pulled out my box of essential oils, ones I received as a gift, and poured 10 drops of peppermint oil plus 10 drops of lavender oil into a cup along with 2 tsp of coconut oil. I heated it up slightly so the coconut oil would melt. Gave it a little swirl and generously slathered it all over the bites on my arms. I felt immediate relief. Even the welt raised skin seemed to tame down a bit.
I don’t know how long it will last so I plan to have my little bug potion close by my bed in case I need it tonite. And bonus…it smells good!
